When so many investors have lost large percentages of their paper wealth in the recent stock market debacle, the benefits of a tangible asset versus a stock portfolio snapshot is brought painfully home.

Not that real estate investment has been painless in the real economy. As a contractor, I have felt CONTINUED HERE…

A recent Forbes article highlights some positive economic numbers, while also listing many ways to expand your purchasing power and “live the good life for less”. Amid the money-saving shopping suggestions, relaxing alternatives to expensive trips to the spa, and online sources of in-demand products, fractional ownership is mentioned. After comparing the cost of vacationing to owning your own fractional property in a Private Residence Club, the article states that in the long run, Fractional Ownership is cheaper than renting. In addition, there is an implied profit in a long-term fractional investment. Owners at Harborview Place experience the good life of Nantucket while only investing a "fraction".

The economy may be in the doldrums, but that doesn’t mean you can’t live well. continue reading….

A second home on Nantucket is the Holy Grail for many in the Northeast. But the thought of commuting to the island by ferry or paying for plane tickets for short weekend getaways can give pause to some. Another option is a fractional residence, which allows buyers to carve out a place for themselves on the island without worrying about how much they’ll actually be able to use it. The first development on Nantucket to offer shared ownership of residences is Harborview Place, a couple of blocks off Main Street.
